The Lois Price Spratlen Foundation used to be the scholarship arm of AAPPN. The scholarship arm operated as an integrated part of AAPPN until 2016, when the Lois Price Spratlen Foundation was created by a group of dedicated AAPPN members.
Lois Price Spratlen was an educator and mentor for Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nurses. She pressed for advanced practice psych nurses to create abstracts and foster a sharing of information for the purpose of educating one another, rather than relying on other disciplines to teach us. She encouraged and modeled mentorship and scholarship, as well as excellence, at every opportunity.
