Management of Bipolar Disorder in Adults and in the Perinatal Period

Drawing from her experiences providing consultations to mental health and primary care providers, Dr. Ramanpreet Toor presents information on how to assess, screen for, and treat bipolar disorder in adults. She will briefly discuss differential diagnoses and preferred medications and will focus on special considerations for treating bipolar disorder during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

- Learn about evidence-based treatment for bipolar disorder in adults
- Learn best practices for treating bipolar disorder during pregnancy and breastfeeding

Ramanpreet Toor, MD, is an assistant professor in the UW Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and the Program Director for the Integrated Care Training Program (ICTP)- 1 year fellowship. She works as a psychiatric consultant at the UW Medical Center and UW primary care clinics, and also provides consultations on the Psychiatry Consultation Line and the PAL for Moms Perinatal Psychiatry Consultation Line.
Dr. Toor’s interests include women’s mental health, mood disorders, improving mental health awareness in the community, and using the Collaborative Care Model to improve access to mental health care.
