Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and Trauma-Informed Care
ACEs are linked to chronic health problems, mental illness, and substance misuse in adulthood, as well as decreased education and employment opportunities. Trauma-Informed Care is characterized by an understanding that problematic behaviors may need to be treated as a result of the ACEs or other traumatic experiences.
