Board At-Large Member, Rural Practice Group Co-Chair

AAPPN has given me the opportunity to connect with many members across the state and grow professionally as a PMHNP through volunteer opportunities and resources within the organization. I am an advocate for improving mental health access and care in rural areas of Washington.
It is an honor to continue to serve as a Board of Directors Member At Large for this organization to continue to encourage other advanced practice psychiatric nurses to help sustain this organization through connection, providing educational opportunities, and advocating for our profession and mental healthcare.
I practiced as a RN in a community and state inpatient hospital for over 8 years before returning to school to advance to a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. In 2019, after graduation and board-certification, I moved to Okanogan County in Washington to practice in a rural setting where there is limited access to mental health care.
I currently practice at Okanogan Behavioral Healthcare. I have been an AAPPN member since graduating in 2019 and I have enjoyed opportunities to connect with students and members throughout our organization in the Rural Practice Group as a co-leader with MaryAnne Murray.
In the past I enjoyed being on the legislative committee and learning how to advocate for our profession and mental healthcare in our state.
