“I am honored to receive this preceptorship award.
“I have always believed that nursing is more than teaching—we pass on our knowledge to others.
“Being a preceptor has afforded me the honor of passing on my knowledge to others.
“Preceptorship is more inclusive than teaching how to complete a task or a procedure. It’s about helping others find their voice. It’s about empowering nurse practitioners to trust their judgement, advocate for their patient, and to feel comfortable asking questions.
“During preceptorship I place great importance on remembering that behind every diagnosis, chart note, and prescribed medication is a human that deserves care and compassion.
“I am grateful that I have had the privilege of being a preceptor.
“My experience of precepting reminded me to remain curious and never lose sight of why I chose my profession.
“I am sincerely appreciative of this award.”
