Piper Buersmeyer

January 19, 2022 by AAPPN

Board At Large Member, Legislative Committee Member, Membership Committee Member

Piper Buersmeyer, PMHNP-BC, ARNP

I look forward to being an At Large Board Member to represent the multiple speciality areas, interests, concerns, needs and changes that need to occur. I have a strong clinical and admin background and can offer my expertise in growing our profession. I am honored to serve.

I am a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner over the lifespan and co-founder of Med Rx Partners and TMS NW. I graduated from Oregon Health and Science University in 2009. I worked for Western Psychological and Counseling for 6 1/2 years until transitioning to full time private practice in 2014.

In September 2017, I was one of three PMHNPs who founded the first and only deep TMS treatment clinic, TMS NW in Vancouver, WA. TMS NW has established unique clinical and ethical standards for TMS treatment and have worked diligently for the past 3 years to change healthcare policy excluding PMHNPs from providing TMS treatment. I have been actively involved with the Clinical TMS Society advocating for PMHNP autonomy and have been successful with two major insurers changing their TMS policy to allow PMHNPs. Two years later, I wanted to drastically increase medication management access in the community after my private practice was full. I again joined forces with TMS NW’s PMHNP owners to start Med Rx Partners. The first PMHNP owned and run medication management clinic in Clark County, Med Rx Partners is providing rapid access to lifesaving care. Nine months later, the owners expanded both Med Rx Partners and TMS NW into Tigard, OR.
