Legislative Update

April 10, 2025 by AAPPN

State Senate fails to advance reimbursement bill

The Senate Ways and Means Committee failed to vote on ESHB 1430, a bill that would have required commercial insurance companies to reimburse ARNP services at 100% of the standard service rate.

With your help, the bill passed the state House, the farthest the bill has advanced. Sign-ups in support of the bill far surpassed 2024 totals and displayed to legislators that this bill has broad support despite the powerful opposition it faced. Thank you to all members who signed on to support!

AAPPN leaders will meet with other stakeholders this summer to strategize our approach to re-introduce the bill in the House in 2026.

Collaborative Effort
AAPPN is proud to work with ARNPs United and other stakeholders in support of this legislation. Our thanks to our lobbyist, Devon Connor-Green, and to our Legislative Committee volunteers, Nikki Behner, Kelly Brewer, Zoe Evans-Agnew, David Falikovici, Kristine Highlander, Leslie Hite, Patricia Morgan, Anne Patterson, and Anna Raymaker, for their time and effort. And a special thanks to MaryAnne Murray and the other volunteers who testified in support of the bill.

AAPPN members makes it possible for our lobbyist and volunteers to advocate for beneficial legislation such as HB 1430. Thank you!
