Following graduation from high school in Idaho, Linn attended St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing in Denver, Colorado. During World War II and the Korean War, she served in the Navy Nurse Corps. She received a baccalaureate degree in nursing from the University of Colorado and a Master’s degree from the University of Washington.

Linn began her nursing career in 1958 at the University Hospital (now the UW Medical Center). She was a faculty member at the UW School of Nursing Department of Psychosocial Nursing from 1969-86.

Linn was a charter member of both the Navy Nurse Corps Association and the Northwest Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists in Psychosocial Nursing.

In her message to loved ones, Linn said, “friends, travel, and reading provided enjoyment, as did the warm inclusion as a member of the extended friendships of my good friends Mary Stewart and Anna Flack.”

We can all be proud and grateful that Linn shared her energy and trailblazing efforts in helping to create AAPPN as our professional home.

Linn asked that she be remembered through contributions to University of Washington School of Nursing or to The Nature Conservancy.
