Leslie Hite, ARNP, PMHNP-BC, has been appointed to the position of President-Elect with the AAPPN Board of Directors.

Leslie was appointed to the open position by the Board at the July 22 AAPPN Leadership Retreat. She will serve the remainder of the year as President-Elect before assuming the position of President in 2024.

“I am honored to serve as the President-Elect for AAPPN,” she said. “I look forward to working with all the great members in this association who advocate for our profession and are always looking for ways to help other members grow professionally while improving the mental health of Washington state.”

Leslie has been an AAPPN Board Member-At-Large since 2021. She co-founded and co-chairs the AAPPN Rural Practice Interest Group, and has served on the AAPPN Legislation Committee and Community Mental Health Task Force. Leslie joined AAPPN after moving from North Carolina in 2019.

Leslie works at Okanogan Behavioral Healthcare in Omak, WA. She practiced as a RN in a community and state inpatient hospital for more than eight years before returning to school to advance to a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. In 2019, after graduation and board-certification, she moved to Okanogan County to practice in a rural setting where there is limited access to mental health care.

Thank you, Leslie, for your dedication to your professional association and your community!
