Serving our Members in an Ever-Changing Time

March 31, 2020 by AAPPN

Mary Ellen O'Keefe
AAPPN President Mary Ellen O’Keefe, MN, MBA, ARNP

The current health care crisis has both immediate and long-lasting impacts on our practices and our personal lives.

AAPPN is poised to offer you some support during these trying times.

I want to thank each of you for providing psycho-social nursing care each day to our fellow citizens. The needs are extraordinary and there is no doubt—you are essential to the health and well being of Washington State.

I am so proud of you, our fellow nurses and our professional colleagues. The World Health Organization was spot-on when they declared 2020 the year of the Nurse and Midwife.

As your professional association, AAPPN would like to assist you not only to weather this crisis, but also to grow your skills and broaden your resources.

AAPPN will offer some financial relief as you consider renewing your current membership. Just as importantly, we will assist you in adjusting to the abrupt shift in your practice environment. We will facilitate access to resources and support among our members so that you can continue to deliver quality clinical services during this critical period.

I hope you will consider the ways in which you can play a role to assist your colleagues. Working together, we can build a strong professional community to flourish beyond the current crisis.
